BIO
Elena Belciu is a cultural manager specializing in artistic research programmes and international cooperation. Since 2017, she has served as Programme Coordinator of the International Centre for Research and Education in Innovative Creative Technologies (CINETic) at the National University of Theatre and Film “I.L. Caragiale” (UNATC) in Bucharest, overseeing research programmes, international conferences, artistic residencies, and interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of art, technology, and society. She previously directed the Studies, Analysis and Continuing Education Center within UNATC’s Research Department, and is a founding member of the Romanian Centre of OISTAT.
An alumna of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), Elena Belciu holds an interdisciplinary academic background in Philology, British Cultural Studies, and a PhD in Theatre Studies. She has coordinated cultural and academic projects with UNESCO, the International Theatre Institute (ITI), the Global Alliance of Theatre Schools (GATS), and OISTAT (International Organisation of Scenographers Theatre Architects and Technicians), with a focus on internationalising arts education, art research and fostering dialogue between the arts, science, and emerging technologies.
