Description of the artwork:

The objective reality was only a dream. There is no one reality, just relative intersections of spacetime dimensions, gravitational fields and relative motions, transdimensional entities and infinite perspectives, timeless echo waves and immaterial holographic projections. An interwoven multidimensional mechanism, a spacetime experience where dreams are projections of a trans-dimensional existence.

DREAM SPACE MECHANICSis a spatial three-dimensional audiovisual composition in augmented reality, an experiment that ventures into the unexplored realm of augmented reality, where spatially volumetric sounds and surreal objects are designed to offer an introspective perspective towards distances within our shared and personal spatial structures. The artistic process makes use of new means, methods, creative and innovative approaches found at the intersection of arts and technologies, expressed in a virtually immersive, interactive mixed reality medium.

The project can be accessed by the public via the freely available mobile AR app “Augmented Space Agency”

Bio ( Name(s) | Country ):

Cip Făcăeru | Romania  is a new media artist, mixed reality designer and scenographer based in Bucharest, Romania. He is also co-founder, vision & creative director of Augmented Space Agency, a research assistant at CINETic – International Centre for Research and Education in Innovative Creative Technologies and a PhD at UNATC – National University of Theater and Cinematographic Art „IL Caragiale”. With an educational background in architecture and design, followed by a strong passion for the emerging new-media technologies and digital visual arts he started to explore the mixed and virtual spaces and experimented with digital mediated interactions and augmentation. This path led to his contribution on various local and international projects in AR, VR and digital art fields, immersive and interactive installations and new media theatre scenographies. The projects he has contributed to are collaborative and multidisciplinary in nature and most of them are created together with the agency that he co-founded.

Andrei Ricu | Romania  is a theatre director and electronic music composer based in Bucharest, Romania. His background in theatre direction was developed at National University of Theater and Cinematographic Art „IL Caragiale” in Bucharest and continues to deepen his knowledge within the Master of Theatre Direction, led by Theodor Cristian Popescu, at the University of Art from Târgu Mureș. He debuted as a theatre director in 2013, at Godot Caffe Theater in Bucharest with „Iaacovi and Leidental” by Hanoch Levin. He also signs the directing of two performances based on Goran Stefanovski’s texts: in 2015 „Hotel Europa” at the National Theater „ILCaragiale” in Bucharest, and in 2016 „Euralien”, a co-production of the Classic Theater „Ioan Slavici” in Arad with the Association Citizen, as well as Falk Richter’s „God is a Dj” at the Satu Mare North Theater in 2019.

At the same time as a electronic music composer Andrei Raicu signs the original music at several shows and performances, of which we mention: „Bang” by Marius von Mayenburg, directed by Theodor-Cristian Popescu, National Theater „Marin Sorescu” Craiova, „Terminal” by Presniakov Brothers, directed by Sorin Militaru, National Theater Târgu Mureș – Company „Liviu Rebreanu”, „Queerdos” – series of interdisciplinary performances, coordinator Cătălin Jugravu, Berlin.

In addition to his passion for theatre and theatre music, Andrei has also performed some live music concerts at several music and contemporary art festivals.

Augmented Space Agency | Romania are explorers of digital frontiers, architects of augmented spaces and designers of future experiences. Their vision is to overcome the barriers between the physical and digital spaces through the creative use of technology, digitally mediated interactions, immersion and augmentation.

This journey through the vast space of reality-virtuality continuum is directed by a young interdisciplinary team with a background in design, architecture, visual and performing arts, software development and creative coding. They are pushing the boundaries of XR (AR, MR, VR) with innovative solutions driven by a creative and design focused approach on software development and production, virtual/augmented space, user interface and interaction and more, with the aim to deliver rich and novel experiences.

The Augmented Space Agency portfolio contains various tech solutions, projects and products deployed in the cultural, art and commercial space that give life to a wide range of visions by concentrating on the new and future media. Their approach is one of democratizing the intersection of art and technology, by making their products accessible to a global audience through a wide range of platforms (smartphones, tablets, VR/MR headsets, smart glasses, interactive installations etc.) at the same time providing value to the local context/environment, the material and immaterial cultural heritage through site-specific digital augmentation, opening new digitally mediated connections between an ever growing audience.
